WHITE GOLD/RHODIUM
Our white gold medical IDs are plated in rhodium, a precious metal that is in the platinum family. Rhodium plating increases shine and makes jewelry more resistant to scratches and hypoallergenic (as it's nickel-free).

STERLING SILVER
Tarnishing is a natural reaction when sterling silver is in the presence of saltwater and various air pollutants. We use a tarnish resistant alloy of sterling silver, and regular wear of our sterling silver jewelry will also help prevent tarnishing.
To remove any tarnish, that may occur, we recommend gently wiping your sterling silver jewelry with a polishing cloth (silver polish and dip-style cleaning solutions are not recommended)
Please do not use any abrasive cleaners, vigorous scrubbing on your sterling silver piece, as this may create scratches or loosen stones. To preserve the black color inlay of your engraving (black markings embedded in the characters) please avoid steam cleaning.
Many of our sterling silver pieces are plated in white rhodium for further tarnish avoidance and durability. For care information, please follow the section labeled “white gold/rhodium”.
